Benjamin Washington is a multimedia artist based in Denton, Texas. Working across a range of creative disciplines, his practice includes graphic design, alternative film photography, sculpture, animation, painting, and digital photography. His work explores materiality, composition, and the boundaries between traditional and experimental processes.

Washington trained in art and design under Brianna Burnett of The Little Blue Book photography and design zine, as well as Mark Monroe, whose public sculptures are exhibited across the United States. During his time at Austin College, he received multiple honors, including the Austin College Materials Grant for two consecutive years and “Best in Show” in the annual student exhibitions in 2022 and 2023.

He also collaborated with Burnett and Monroe on a multimedia panel mural currently on display at Texas Instruments in Sherman, Texas. In his senior year, Washington was selected to present a solo gallery exhibition, which remained on view for prospective student tours over the summer.

Since graduating, he has begun transitioning into professional practice, designing concert posters, editing short-form digital content, and continuing to develop his photographic work. He is currently planning a post-graduate gallery exhibition within the next six months.
